Dartford Lions have created a Peace Poster Competition. This will be run independently of the national competition to allow five groups of young people with special needs to participate on a level playing field, as no special needs section yet exists at national level.

Using the theme of world peace, three young people from each of the five groups will enter their posters into the competition, which will be judged at club level. A presentation to the winners will take place on 6 October at Stephen Oliver: Studio & Gallery in the Orchards Shopping Centre, Dartford. Each entry will then be exhibited at the gallery. Dartford Lions wish to thank the Orchards Centre, and Stephen Oliver for their help and support.

Each school, or group, will be placed 1st to 5th with the winning prizes going to each school or group. The individual entries will collect certificates of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each respective team.

Lions regional chairman, Ian Forbes, will be presenting the prizes on Friday 6th October.

The participating young people are from:
BEAMS,
Shenstone School,
Helen Allison School,
Milestone Academy,
Broomhill Bank School (North).
